SocialVibe – Make a Difference
Recently I joined a site I had learned about from a friend called SocialVibe. It is a free and easy way to raise money for the cause of your choice. The cause I picked was To Write Love On Her Arms which is an organization which raises money for suicide awareness and finds people who need help someone to talk to and a place to go. After you sign up, you pick a cause you want the money raised for, and you pick a sponser whom donates the money to the cause. You can pick up to two sponsers. Along the way, you earn points, the more points you get the more the sponser donates. Also, some sponsers come with perks like one of my sponsers, Kiwee, has the perk of a Macbook. Others have perks such as an iPhones, extra points, etc. The two sponsers I picked were Adobe and Kiwee.
Causes they have: To Write Love On Her Arms, Charity: Water, World Wildlife Fund, Stand Up To Cancer, Do Something, Invisible Children, PETA, Children for Children, IAVA, Pancreatic Cancer, Starlight’s Children Foundation, One Laptop Per Child, Children’s Miracle Network, SPCLA, World Food Programme, The Vision Charity, Surfrider Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, COLAGE, Partnership For A Drug-Free America, Disaster Relief, The Art Of Elysium, Declare Yourself, Direct Relief International, Hollyrod4Kids, DonorsChose.org, The Stephen Murray Family Fund, The Dispatch Foundation, Education, Enviorment, Health, Hunger and Poverty, Animals, Arts & Culture, Peace & Human rights.
Sponsers They Have: Kiwee, Adobe, Sprint, Powerbar, MAC, Bebe, Juicy Couture, Coca-Cola Cherry, Kidrobot, 7 for All Mankind, Ed Hardy, Dolce & Gabbana, Hello Kitty, Abercrombie and Fitch, Marc Jacobs, Apple, Converse, Dirty Shirty, Famous Stars and Strips, Zune, Hoven, UFC, Burton, Declare Yourself, Doritos, Fox Racing, Gibson, Billabong, BBC Ice Cream, NBA, Rockstar, Volcom, E*TRADE, Hollister, Xbox, Sean John, Obey, American Apparel, Sub Urban Riot, Samsung, Baby Phat, Nike, EA Sports, O.N.E., Butterfinger, Project Blue.
“SocialVibe is a new social media platform that facilitates interaction between people, the brands they love and the causes they care about. SocialVibe recognizes the influence people have online and has created an easy way for people to use their influence for social good. Social media advertising opportunities are plentiful, however SocialVibe’s unique platform empowers communities of real people to make a real difference. With SocialVibe, people enhance their online experiences by getting sponsored by brands to support the causes they believe in.
Launched in 2007, SocialVibe’s funding is led by Redpoint Ventures.”
Refering people gets you the most points. For each person you refer you gain 100 points. You also get “badges” to place on your profiles, blogs, and web sites and you get points just for people going there and seeing them.
My Badges:
I couldn’t believe it’s that easy to do your part and make a difference in the world. I think everyone should be doing this.

Great site! The design is pretty darn amazing too. Its a very smart business model and took some creative thinking to put together. The owner, Joe Marchese, realized that since people on the web already promote big businesses through large social media networks such as Facebook and Myspace. He could benefit the users by allowing them to choose a charity they would like to benefit by using some of the profits the corporations gain from the visitors usage. Very good business model, and it seems to be working. They’ve raised tens of millions to hundreds of charities so far. Good work!
